This organization was founded in 1986. It is supported by volunteers from various cities throughout the northeast regions of America (U.S. and Canada). Its annual tournament is held during the Labour Day Weekend, in either in U.S. or Canada. According to the host of the 2005 Tournament (SIPAG Basketball in New York), the NABA tournament has been described as Olympics of Basketball because of its large participation and attendance. This year's 2007 tournament was held in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and hosted by NABA Toronto in cooperation with Dolce, CKaTT Basketball group and the Mississauga Tourism. A total of 17 cities from the United States and Canada fielded 84 teams and 1,260 players in nine age divisions who played a total of 150 games in the 2-days tournament. The next NABA tournament will be held in Detroit during the Labour Day week-end of 2008.
